Kathmandu Cricket League starts from Saturday

Kathmandu- The first edition of Kathmandu Cricket League, a 50- over cricket tournament, will kick off from March 28, Saturady at Tundikhel Ground, Kathmandu.

This is the first 50-over cricket tournament of its type that will feature 12 premier clubs from Kathmandu Valley as well as from outside the valley and will run for 15 days.

The competition is being organised by Himalaya Sports Management P. Ltd. along with technical support of Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) and has been entitled as be “Kathmandu Cricket League (KCL) 2015.”

The tournament aims at reviving the legacy of Cricket which Tundikhel carries by providing a platform for future stars of Nepali Cricket.

“Tundikhel has a historical value regarding Nepali Cricket as it has been the center of Club level Cricket for a long period of time. It is also the origin to various players currently playing in national side. We want to revive that legacy of Cricket which Tundikhel carries by providing a platform for future stars of Nepali Cricket,” the organizers said.

“National team players Sharad Vesawakar, Subash Khakurel, Bhuwan Karki, Pradeep Airee, Prithu Baskota, Rajesh Pulami, Raju Rijal, Dipendra Airee will represent various teams,” said the organizers.
