Lumbini All-Stars to grant cash prize to Dipendra for his record-breaking T20I fifty

Lumbini All Stars (LAS), the winning team of the inaugural Nepal T20 League, has announced a special cash prize for Dipendra Singh Airee, who achieved the fastest-ever T20I fifty, on Wednesday.

LAS has revealed that they will award Dipendra Singh Airee with Nrs. One Lakh in recognition of his exceptional achievement. Additionally, the team has announced a reward of Nrs. Ten Thousand for each player who was part of the starting XI.

Dipendra Singh Airee, who captained LAS during their triumphant Nepal T20 League campaign, made headlines when he blazed a 9-ball fifty against Mongolia in the opening match of the Asian Games Cricket tournament. This remarkable feat saw him break the famous record previously held by India’s Yuvraj Singh, who achieved a 12-ball fifty in a 2007 match against England, a game in which he famously smashed six consecutive sixes off Stuart Broad’s bowling.

Airee coming into the bat after Rohit Paudel’s dismissal in 18.1 overs, remained unbeaten for 52 runs from ten balls, hammering eight sixes. He smacked six consecutive sixes as well.

Nepal posted 314/3 on the board, marking the first time a team had ever reached the 300-run milestone in T20I history. They bowled out Mongolia for 41 runs and bagged a 273-run win which is the biggest-ever win in terms of runs.
