Minimum 10 overs in both innings to be completed in the T20 World Cup Semi-finals & Final

New rule: Minimum of 10 overs in both innings need to be completed in the Semi-final and final to have a result.

The new rule will be applied for the ICC World Cup 2022 semi-finals and final match. There will also be a question in your mind that after all this is a new rule, so let us tell you what is this new rule.

It has been seen throughout this tournament that many matches have been canceled due to rain and in the semi-finals, it may be raining to spoil the game. In such a situation, there is no wrong with any team, so the ICC has decided that it will be necessary to bowl 10-10 over’s in both innings to bring results in the semi-finals and final of this tournament. If 10 over’s are not completed in any innings, then the result of the match will not be known.

Apart from this, if a match is tied or rain comes or due to any other reason the match cannot be played on the scheduled day, then these big matches will be played on reserve day. However, the first attempt by the match officials will be to get the semi-finals and the final completed on the same day, even if only 10 over’s of 10 overs are played.

Also, if the match starts at its scheduled time and rain comes in the middle of the match and such conditions are created that the match cannot be started again, then on reserve day, the match will proceed from where the game was stopped. This decision of the ICC is good news for both the fans and the teams because when there is a short game, one team can benefit, but when a fixed time frame is known, then both teams can prepare themselves accordingly.
