Nepal Cricket team to train at Rajasthan Royals Academy

The Nepalese cricket team is set to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup Asia region qualifiers at the Academy of the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, located in Nagpur.

After participating in the 19th Asian Games, the Nepali cricket team arrived back home on Thursday and is now heading to Nagpur today.

The Nepalese team will be involved in intensive 10-day training at the academy as preparation for the crucial tournament to be hosted on home turf. Following this training, Nepal is scheduled to participate in a Tri-series alongside Hong Kong and UAE, which is slated to be held in Kathmandu from October 17 to 26.

All the matches of the Tri-series will be played at Mulpani Cricket Ground, apart from the final which will be played at TU Cricket Ground.

In the meantime, the qualifying tournament is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from October 30 to November 6. Group A comprises Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, and Oman, while Group B includes UAE, Hong Kong, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

The top two teams from each group will secure a semifinal spot with two finalists grabbing the ticket to the T20 World Cup 2024 to be hosted in the USA and West Indies. Nepal will play all the matches at the TU Cricket Ground.
