PM Cup Women’s National Tournament: Day 3 summary

Opposite to the previous couple of days, batting first teams were dominant on the third match-day of the PM Cup Women’s National Tournament. Three teams were victorious batting first whilst Bagmati pocketed a win completing a chase.

Rubina Chhetri star in Koshi’s win over Madhesh

Koshi Province women registered a comfortable 60-run win over Madhesh Province women in the first match at TU Cricket Ground. Koshi posted 129/4 after a 57-run knock from Rubina Chhetri. Apsari Begam and Sabnam Rai contributed 39 and eight-ball 16 runs.

In response, Madhesh ended up scoring 69/9 after 20 overs. Sana Praveen scored 27 whereas Aarti Mahato added 18 runs. Alisha Khadiya and Sabnam Rai were brilliant and picked up two wickets each. Rubina Chhetri who also picked up a wicket was adjudged player of the match. Koshi are unbeaten after three consecutive wins.

Indu Barma shine as APF thrash Lumbini

Armed Police Force (APF) registered a big win against Lumbini Province women and continued their winning run. They posted 151/4 on the board after a half-century from Mamta Chaudhary (59) and Indu Barma (70). The duo shared 104 runs for the second wicket.

Lumbini could score only 61/9 after playing 20 overs, facing a 90-run defeat. Only Laxmi Chaudhary (28) managed to cross a double-digit score. Indu Barma picked up three wickets (3-2-7-3) as well and was awarded POTM.

Sudurpaschim outplay Karnali after Kabita Joshi’s heroic

Sudurpaschim Province women registered a cakewalk 81-win over Karnali Province in the second match played in Kirtipur. Kabita Joshi scored 50-ball 78* as Sudurpaschim piled up a huge total of 151/4. Karnali dropped several catches in the field which helped the opposition team.

In reply, Karnali played a full 20 overs and scored 70/9. Trisana Bishwokarma scored 28 runs whereas Rashmi Khadka and Anju Gurung added 10 runs each.

Bagmati register a fighting win against Gandaki

Bagmati Province women bagged a fighting four-wicket win against Lumbini Province women. Chasing a target of 113 runs, Bagmati achieved the feat in 18.4 overs losing four wickets. Yashod Bista once again rescued Bagmati with a vital 39*. Gandaki conceded 18 extra runs which cost them a win.

Earlier, Gandaki scored 112/4 at the end of 20 overs. Anjali Bishowkarma top scored with 32 runs whereas Seemana KC and Suman Khatiwada made 28 runs each.
