Pubudu Dassanayake arrives in Kathmandu

Kathmandu – Former National team Coach Pubudu Dassanayake has arrived in Kathmandu for a two weeks visit to mentor Nepal team that takes on Namibia on April 16 and 18.

Dassanayake landed today in Kathmandu Airport and will work as a Mentor for the upcoming ICC World Cricket League Championship against Namibia.

On November 2015, Dassanayake resigned from the post before the match against Papua New Guinea and returned to his home country – Canada after the completion. Since then, Cricket Association of Nepal failed to find his replacement for the national side.

Earlier, ICC’s Asian Development Manager Bandula Warnapura requested Dassanayake to coach the Nepal team for these two matches against Namibia, which he accepted. Warnapura is in Nepal to inspect the ground condition of Tribhuvan University Ground.

Jagat Tamata is coaching the national side in the absence of head coach.
