Nepal’s star leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has flown to Pakistan to join Lahore Qalandars for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League 2021.

Lamichhane, who didn’t get picked for the Indian Premier League last week received a call to join Qalandars as a replacement for Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan.

Khan had to leave Qalandars mid-season due to the upcoming test series against Zimbabwe. He also suffered a finger injury in his final outing against Quetta Gladiators.

Khan was picked by the Lahore Qalandars as a platinum player. Afghanistan is playing two test matches and three T20 Internationals against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi starting on March 2

This will be the second stint for Sandeep Lamichanne in the PSL for the Lahore Qalandars side. He will be the second player from Associate nation to play in the PSL 2021 after Ali Khan from the USA.

Twenty-year-old Lamichhane had played seven matches for Qalandars in the 2019 edition of the PSL, taking 11 wickets.
