Kathmandu – Shaddab Akhtar managed 34 runs and three wickets to help Birat Cricket Club defeat Mahabir Yuva Committee by 6 wickets in the ongoing 2016 Jagshakti Saanshad Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Sideshwar Cricket Ground on wednesday.
Birat Cricket Society restricted Mahabir Yuva Committee, Janakpur for a mere 72 runs in 18.1 overs after they won the toss. Aktar and Hasim Ansari rattled the opposition with three wickets each. For Mahabir, Sobha Kant Pandey top scored with 17(25). Raj Mohammad and Rajaul Mustafa managed 16(9) and 14(28) respectively. Puspa Thapa also picked two wickets.
In reply, Birat Cricket Society chased the target in just 11.1 overs. Shaddab Aktar top scored with 34(25) while the unbeaten partnership between Minash Thapa (23*) and Mehboob Alam (13*) helped the successful chase without any hiccups.
Gopal Singh grabbed the two wickets (2-18) but was not enough to restrict them. Shaddab Akhtar was adjudged Man of the match for his all round performance.
