Sri Lanka’s squad revealed for World Cup Qualifier

Sri Lanka has revealed the squad for World Cup Qualifier 2023. Skipper Dasun Shanaka will be leading the 15-man squad.

The 1996’s world champions were forced to compete in the Qualifier after finishing in the bottom five of the Super League. Sri Lanka is placed in Group B alongside Oman, Scotland, Ireland and UAE. They will start the campaign facing UAE on 19th June at Queen’s Sports Club. Shanaka’s side will play against Netherlands and USA ahead of the main event.

The tournament is scheduled to take place between June 18th and July 9th. The top three teams from both groups will advance to the Super Six stage. In the Super Six, those teams will face each other, and the two teams with the highest rankings will proceed to the final. Both finalists will secure their spots in the Cricket World Cup 2023.

West IndiesNetherlandsIreland, Zimbabwe, OmanUSANepal and Scotland have already made official announcements regarding their respective squads for the tournament. Only UAE is yet to unveil the squad for the tournament.
