Triton enters CPL quarter final

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Triton International College entered into the quarter finals of the International College Premier League T20 tournament being held in Mumbai after a 8 wicket victory over Dayanand Sagar College, Bangalore today.

Nischal smashed an unbeaten 44 runs as Triton College chased the target of 85 runs in 9.3 overs losing only two wickets. Amit Shrestha added 18 runs. Earlier, batting first, Dayanand Sagar College scored 84/10 in 17  overs. Nischal Pandey and Ritesh Singh took two wickets each for Triton. Man of the match and best batsmen award was awarded to Nischal Chaudhary. Ritesh Singh was adjudged best bowler while catch of the match went to Indra Kamal Manandhar.

Triton entered into the quarter final with the net run rate of +1.429 better to -0.251 of VIT and -1.339 of Dayanand as all of the three teams in the group had a win each.

Earlier, on Thursday VIT College, Pune had defeated Triton by 5 wickets. VIT had chased the target of 119 runs with thriller in last ball of the innings with 5 wickets in hand. For Nepal, Amit Shrestha had scored 33 runs while Nischal Chaudhary had added 18. Clement took two wickets for the winning side while Atul got the another one. For the VIT’s chase, man of the match Clement had contributed 70 runs while Saurabh had put 16 on board. Rupesh Shrivastav took two wickets while Nischal Chaudhary took one for Triton. Rupesh Srivastav and Indra Kamal Manandhar were awarded with the best bowler and catch of the match respectively.

Triton will now face SRM University Chennai in the quarter final.
