Government Dissolves CAN

Kathmandu/Cricnepal – The government on Thursday has dissolved Cricket Association of Nepal and formed an ad-hoc Executive Committee led by former president of CAN Binay Raj Pandey .

Shree Harsha Koirala has been appointed the vice president and Ramesh Kumar Silwal has been appointed as the General Secretary of the interim committee.

The government came up with the decision as many members of  CAN including the president  Tanka Angbuhang, the first  elected president of CAN, General Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel, vice president and members of CAN were suspended by  Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in the charge of financial irregularities.

Pandey has long experience of working with Cricket in Nepal. Appointed the president in 2006 he has served Nepali Cricket for over four decades. Pandey has also worked as vice-president of Asian Cricket Council.
