ICC set to release funds for CAN

Kathmandu – International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to release the funds for Nepal which was freezed from last 10 months following the failure in appointing paid-administrators in Cricket Association of Nepal(CAN).

Earlier this year, ICC delegation had directed CAN to take a professional approach to run the governing body by hiring Chief Executive Officer and a Financial Officer.

In reply, CAN announced vacancies for the above two post few months back as directed by ICC and short listed five candidates out of 27 for the post of CEO and six out of 59 has been selected for Finance officer. The shortlisted candidates would be interviewed along with the ICC representatives during their mid-August visit to Nepal.

With this release, CAN will be in a huge sigh of relief as they were in a state of bankrupt. The preparation for national team along with Under-16s team were also halted due to financial issues as they are set to take part in Asian games and ACC Under-16 Premier League next month.
