Nepal women bag a dramatic win against Malaysia women

The Nepalese Women’s Cricket Team are victorious in the first match of the T20 World Cup Asian region qualification. They registered a dramatic five-run win against Malaysia at Bayuemas Oval.

Invited to bat first, Nepal managed a score of 84/5 despite a horrendous start. They lost three wickets in the first three balls of the inning. However, Sita Rana Magar rescued Nepal with 54-ball 38 runs. Apsari Begam and Rubina Chhetri added 17 and 13 runs respectively.

In reply, Malaysia could score only 79 runs after losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Once, they were in a comfortable position to win the match with just 20 runs required from 30 balls, having seven wickets in hand. But they managed only 14 runs and lost six wickets to face a defeat.

Winifred Duraisingam scored 28 runs for Malaysia. For Nepal, Kabita Joshi and Kabita Kunwar picked up two wickets each.
