Nepal’s warm-up match against West Indies called off due to rain

Nepal U19 team’s second and final warm-up match in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup has been abandoned due to the rain.

Nepal were scheduled to play against West Indies U19 on Tuesday at St Stithians Main Oval ground in Johannesburg, however, rain spoiled the match.

The Nepalese side won the toss and invited West Indies to bat. They were 33/1 after 8.3 overs before the rain halted the game. Unfortunately, the weather conditions did not permit further play, leading to the match being called off.

Nepal played two practice matches before the official warm-up game. They emerged victorious against both Scotland U19 and Namibia U19. The Nepalese side bagged a narrow win against Scotland in the first warm-up game.

The U19 World Cup 2024 will be played from January 19 to February 11 in South Africa. Nepal is placed in Group D alongside Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan.
